Natacha Merrit was born in 1977 and grew up in San Francisco. She followed her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer to the Sorbonne in Paris, France, but quit after only three months.

Law studies had taken a back-seat to a new part-time job-photographing models. With her first digital camera and no formal knowledge about photo-graphy, she began to discover the thrill of taking sexy pictures.

Natacha soon returned to California where she continued working on her photo-journals, taking pictures of her own sexual encounters and publishing them on the internet. The lure of appearing on the web brought models to Natacha, some of whom she agreed to work with.

Using hotel rooms as backdrops, Natacha pursued her new pas-sion, passing from lover to lover and upgrading her digital camera whenever a more sophis-tlcal model came out.

Before long, her portfolio was rich with images, which she continually uploaded onto her website.

New York photographer Eric Kroll, mho has published books Hi his own photography with TASCHEN, came across Natacha's work on the internet. He contacted her and the two became friends. Soon he introduced her to Benedikt Taschen, and the rest is history....
